MORRO BAY TURNS 50!
During 2014 the City of Morro Bay will be celebrating a significant milestone, reaching 50 years of incorporation. We are excited to include the entire community in aspects surrounding the 50th Celebration Year of Morro Bay’s “Landmark & Legacy,” highlighting our breathtaking coastal community, the indisputable landmark of Morro Rock and the fishing heritage and legacy that endures today.
A group of volunteer citizens has been working hard taking suggestions from: community members, businesses, organizations, clubs, societies, city staff, and the City Council to create a reasonable, well thought out and sustainable plan of events, special moments, projects and offers to take place during the City’s spectacular 50th celebration year!
We invite you to participate in any way you feel appropriate, and celebrate with us during the 50th year honoring our "Landmark & Legacy". Visit the about page to discover landmark and legacy facts about Morro Bay.
Join the community of Morro Bay in celebrating this 50th year. Check out our calendar page for upcoming events and activities.
Our local hotels, restaurants, and shops are celebrating all year long with themed specials. View our blog page to find places where you can spend like it's 1964.
Also, please visit our sponsors page and support our generous businesses for their contributions to the 50th celebration.
Happy birthday Morro Bay!
